Q: How has data transformed the rental housing industry over the past 17 years?

A: When I first joined the industry 17 years ago, the term “data engineer” wasn’t even in our vocabulary. However, the applications for clean, robust data are almost endless. Leaders in the space now leverage data to drive innovation and create a competitive advantage. As one of the engineers at RealPage, I was part of a grassroots team that created revolutionary technology for rental housing. My experience with hands-on, open-source data was invaluable and led to the creation of data mining and business intelligence solutions that transformed the way our industry invests in and manages its assets.

Q: Can you share how your experience in data gathering and warehousing contributed to your career?

A: Over time, as my career progressed, deeper data gathering, warehousing, and laking enabled me to build a layer of intelligence to enrich data and increase its value. This evolution allowed me to create an entire ecosystem of data that elevated our business, giving us an edge in decision-making and operational efficiency.

Q: What attracted you to LeaseLock, and how do you see its potential?

A: About two years ago, I learned more about LeaseLock, and I immediately saw the potential for another industry transformation. LeaseLock was already the clear leader in its space, with perfect product market fit. However, what distinguished LeaseLock most was its focus on data science, supported by an amazing team and a scalable solution. I recognized it as something I could grow exponentially.

Unlike other options that function like small payday loans, LeaseLock protects and factors in the interests of all constituents in rental housing. Every team member at LeaseLock is committed to maintaining that balance in all our efforts, and that commitment energizes me as a leader.

A: At LeaseLock, I see us standing on a mountain peak, equipped to continue reaching new summits. We have the foundation, the track record, and the roadmap to catapult us to the next level. Our distinguished team, along with our normalized data, integrations, data lake, and data science, have all matured. The AI solutions we’re delivering are driving game-changing results for rental housing. Another revolution is in the making, one that will transform our industry entirely for the better, and I’m thrilled to be a part of it.
