(collectively, “LeaseLock,” “we,” “us,” or “our”), protecting your personal information is our priority. This Statement of Privacy (this “Privacy Policy”) applies to leaselock.com and its subsites (collectively, “Website”) and governs how we protect your data.

Scope of this Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy applies to all LeaseLock websites that link to it. It also applies to the products and services provided by LeaseLock through these websites, our mobile applications, and applications posted by LeaseLock on LeaseLock’s online marketplace and in other third party online marketplaces. This Privacy Policy does not apply to any of our websites, products, or services that have a separate privacy policy.

Part I – Information LeaseLock Collects and Processes

Collection and Use of Personal Information

LeaseLock collects information about you only if we need the information for a legitimate business purpose. We will have access to information about you only if (a) you have provided the information yourself, (b) LeaseLock has automatically collected the information, or (c) LeaseLock has obtained the information from a third party.

Personal information collected by LeaseLock in the 12 months preceding this Privacy Policy’s last update are also consistent with the following.

Under no circumstances does LeaseLock sell any of the information collected from you.

Information that you provide to LeaseLock:
LeaseLock may collect personally identifiable information, such as your name, email address, and telephone number. We use this information to help recommend appropriate LeaseLock products and services to you, and as a primary means of communication with you.

Contact Us: We record information that you submit when you (i) request a demo, (ii) subscribe to our newsletter or any other mailing list, (iii) participate in contests or respond to surveys, (iv) submit a request for customer support; or (v) contact LeaseLock for any other purpose.

Testimonials: When you authorize us to post testimonials about our products and services on websites, we may include your name and other personal information in the testimonial. You will be given an opportunity to review and approve the testimonial before we post it. If you wish to update or delete your testimonial, you can contact us at Privacy@LeaseLock.com.

Interactions with LeaseLock: We may record, analyze, and use your interactions with us, including email, telephone, and chat conversations with our sales and customer support professionals, for the purpose of improving our interactions with you and other customers.

Information that LeaseLock automatically collects:
Information from browsers, devices and servers: Information about your computer hardware and software may be automatically collected by LeaseLock. This information can include: your IP address, browser type, domain names, access times, and referring website addresses. This information is used for the operation of the LeaseLock program, to maintain quality of the service, and to provide general statistics regarding use of the Website.

LeaseLock encourages you to review the privacy statements of websites you choose to link to from LeaseLock so that you are able to understand how those websites collect, use and share your information. LeaseLock is not responsible for privacy statements or other content on websites outside of the LeaseLock Website.

Information from first party cookies and tracking technologies: We use temporary and permanent cookies to identify users of our services and to enhance our user experience. We also use cookies, beacons, tags, scripts, and other similar technologies to identify visitors, track website navigation, gather demographic information about visitors and users, understand email campaign effectiveness and for targeted visitor and user engagement by tracking your activities on our websites. We use first-party and third-party cookies.

Information from application logs and mobile analytics: We collect information about your use of our products and services from application logs and in-house usage analytics tools, and use it to understand how your business use and needs can improve our products. This information includes clicks, scrolls, features accessed, access time and frequency, errors generated, performance data, storage utilized, user settings and configurations, and devices used to access and their locations.

Information we collect from third parties:
Referrals: If someone has referred any of our products or services to you through any of our referral programs, that person may have provided us your name, email address and other personal information. If you provide us information about another person, or if another person gives us your information, we will only use that information for the specific reason for which it was provided to us.

Information from social media sites and other publicly available sources: When you interact or engage with us on social media, including, but not limited to sites such as Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, and Instagram through posts, comments, questions, and other interactions, we may collect such publicly accessible information, including profile information, to allow us to connect with you, improve our products, or better understand user reactions and issues. So that you are aware, this information may remain with us even if you delete it from the social media sites. LeaseLock may also add and update information about you, from other publicly available sources.

Sharing of your Personal Information

LeaseLock does not sell, rent, or lease its customer data to third parties.

LeaseLock may share data with trusted partners to help perform statistical analysis, send you email or postal mail, provide customer support, or arrange for deliveries. All such third parties are prohibited from using your personal information except to provide these services to LeaseLock, and they are required to maintain the confidentiality of your information.

LeaseLock may also share your personal information (such as your name, address and email address) with other corporate entities and vendors working with LeaseLock in order to enable those service providers to use such information for their own marketing-related purposes, and such service providers may in turn share such information with other third parties for marketing-related purposes.

LeaseLock may keep track of the websites and pages our users visit within LeaseLock, in order to determine what LeaseLock services are the most popular. This data is used to deliver customized content and advertising within LeaseLock to customers whose behavior indicates that they are interested in a particular subject area.

LeaseLock will disclose your personal information, without notice, only if required to do so by law or in the good faith belief that such action is necessary to: (a) conform to the edicts of the law or comply with legal process served on LeaseLock or the site; (b) protect and defend the rights or property of LeaseLock; and, (c) act under exigent circumstances to protect the personal safety of users of LeaseLock, or the public.

Use of Cookies

The Website may use “cookies” to help you personalize your online experience. A cookie is a text file that is placed on your hard disk by a web page server. For example, if you personalize LeaseLock pages, or register with LeaseLock site or services, a cookie helps LeaseLock to recall your specific information on subsequent visits. Your Rights with Respect to Information We Hold About You as a Business

You have the following rights with respect to information that LeaseLock holds about you. LeaseLock undertakes to provide you the same rights no matter where you choose to live.

Right to access: You have the right to access (and obtain a copy of, if required) the categories of personal information that we hold about you, including the information’s source, purpose and period of processing, and the persons to whom the information is shared.

Right to rectification: You have the right to update the information we hold about you or to rectify any inaccuracies. Based on the purpose for which we use your information, you can instruct us to add supplemental information about you in our database.

Right to erasure: You have the right to request that we delete your personal information in certain circumstances, such as when it is no longer necessary for the purpose for which it was originally collected.

Right to restriction of processing: You may also have the right to request to restrict the use of your information in certain circumstances, such as when you have objected to our use of your data but we need to verify whether we have overriding legitimate grounds to use it.

Right to data portability: You have the right to transfer your information to a third party in a structured, commonly used and machine-readable format, in circumstances where the information is processed with your consent or by automated means.

Right to object: You have the right to object to the use of your information in certain circumstances, such as the use of your personal information for direct marketing.

California Privacy Rights

California Consumer Privacy Act (“CCPA”) provides you five rights, which include:
(1) the right to know what personal information is collected, disclosed, or sold;

  • You can request the following information about how we have collected and used your Personal Information during the past 12 months:
    • The categories of Personal Information that we have collected.
    • The categories of sources from which we collected Personal Information.
    • The business or commercial purpose for collecting and/or selling Personal Information.
    • The categories of third parties with whom we share Personal Information.
    • Whether we have disclosed your Personal Information for a business purpose, and if so, the categories of Personal Information received by each category of recipient.
    • Whether we’ve sold your Personal Information, and if so, the categories of Personal Information received by each category of recipient.

(2) the right to access of personal information;

    • You can request a copy of the Personal Information that we have collected about you during the past 12 months.

(3) the right to request deletion of personal information;

    • You can ask us to delete the Personal Information that we maintain about you.

(4) the right to opt-out of sale (which is redundant since we promise not to sell or monetize your data in any way); and

(5) the right against discrimination because you exercised the rights available to you.

  • You are entitled to exercise the rights described above free from discrimination. This means that we will not penalize you for exercising your rights by taking actions such as:
    • Denying you goods or services,
    • Increasing the price/rate of goods or services,
    • Decreasing our service quality, or
    • Suggesting that we may penalize you as described above for exercising your rights.

Only you, or an agent authorized to make a request on your behalf, may make a request related to your personal information.

We cannot respond to your request if, (i) we cannot verify your identity; or (ii) your request lacks sufficient details to help us handle the request. We endeavor to comply with a request within 45 days of its receipt. If we require more time (up to 90 days), we will inform you, in writing, the reason for the delay.

Retention and Security of your Personal Information

We retain your personal information for as long as it is required for the purposes stated in this Privacy Policy. Sometimes, we may retain your information for longer periods as permitted or required by law, such as to maintain suppression lists, prevent abuse, if required in connection with a legal claim or proceeding, to enforce our agreements, for tax, accounting, or to comply with other legal obligations. When we no longer have a legitimate need to process your information, we will delete or anonymize your information from our active databases. We will also securely store the information and isolate it from further processing on backup discs until deletion is possible.

LeaseLock secures your personal information from unauthorized access, use or disclosure. When personal information (such as name and email address) is transmitted to other websites, it is protected through the use of encryption, such as the Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) protocol. LeaseLock takes steps to restrict access to your personal information to those individuals who must access it in order to deliver LeaseLock products and services.

Part II – Information that LeaseLock Processes
as a Service Provider

Information entrusted to LeaseLock and purpose:

Information provided in connection with services: You may entrust information that you or your organization (“you”) control, to LeaseLock in connection with use of our services or for requesting support for our products. This includes information regarding your customers/clients and your employees, or data that you hold and use on behalf of another person for a specific purpose, such as a customer to whom you provide services.

(All the information entrusted to LeaseLock is collectively termed “service data”)

Ownership and control of your service data:

We recognize that you own your service data. We provide you complete control of your service data by providing you the ability to (i) access your service data, (ii) share your service data through supported third party integrations, and (iii) request export or deletion of your service data.

How we use service data:

We process your service data when you provide us instructions through the various modules of our services. For example, when an invoice is generated, information such as the name and address of your customer may be used to generate the invoice.

Who we share service data with:

LeaseLock subsidiaries and third party sub-contractors: In order to provide services and technical support for our products, the contracting entity within the LeaseLock organization engages other group entities and third parties.

Employees and independent contractors: We may provide access to your service data to our employees and individuals who are independent contractors of the LeaseLock entities involved in providing the services (collectively our “employees”) so that they can (i) identify, analyze, and resolve errors, (ii) manually verify emails reported as spam to improve spam detection, or (iii) manually verify scanned images that you submit to us to verify the accuracy of optical character recognition. We ensure that access by our employees to your service data is restricted to specific individuals, and is logged and audited. Our employees will also have access to data that you knowingly share with us for technical support or to import data into our products or services. We communicate our privacy and security guidelines to our employees and strictly enforce privacy safeguards within LeaseLock.

Third party integrations you have enabled: Most of our products and services support integrations with third party products and services. If you choose to enable any third party integrations, you may be allowing the third party to access your service information and personal information about you. We encourage you to review the privacy practices of the third party services and products before you enable integrations with them.

Retention of information:

LeaseLock stores the minimum amount of information in order to satisfy insurance requirements. LeaseLock will honor requests to remove information from the system so long as it is legal.

Part III – General

Children Under Thirteen

LeaseLock products and services are only for persons aged 18 and older. LeaseLock does not knowingly collect personally identifiable information from individuals under the age of 18. IF YOU ARE UNDER THE AGE OF 18, YOU MAY NOT USE OR ACCESS THIS SITE WITHOUT THE CONSENT OF YOUR PARENT OR GUARDIAN.

How secure is your information

At leaseLock, we take data security very seriously. We have taken steps to implement appropriate administrative, technical, & physical safeguards to prevent unauthorized access, use, modification, disclosure or destruction of the information you entrust to us.

Do Not Track

Please note that LeaseLock and the Website do not support “Do Not Track” browser settings and do not currently participate in any “Do Not Track” frameworks that would allow us to respond to signals or other mechanisms from you regarding the collection of your personal or non-personally identifiable information.

Opt-Out/Unsubscribe

We respect your privacy and give you an opportunity to opt-out of receiving announcements of certain information. Users may opt-out of receiving any or all communications from LeaseLock by contacting us here:

Please note you will still see ads even if you opt out, but they will not be personalized.

Social media widgets

Our websites include social media widgets such as Facebook “like” buttons and Twitter “tweet” buttons that let you share articles and other information. These widgets may collect information such as your IP address and the pages you navigate in the website, and may set a cookie to enable the widgets to function properly. Your interactions with these widgets are governed by the privacy policies of the companies providing them.

Disclosures in compliance with legal obligations

We may be required by law to preserve or disclose your personal information and service data to comply with any applicable law, regulation, legal process or governmental request, including to meet national security requirements.

Enforcement of our rights

We may disclose personal information and service data to a third party if we believe that such disclosure is necessary for preventing fraud, investigating any suspected illegal activity, enforcing our agreements or policies, or protecting the safety of our users.

Business Transfers

We do not intend to sell our business. However, in the unlikely event that we sell our business or get acquired or merged, we will ensure that the acquiring entity is legally bound to honor our commitments to you. We will notify you via email or through a prominent notice on our website of any change in ownership or in the uses of your personal information and service data. We will also notify you about any choices you may have regarding your personal information and service data.

LeaseLock maintains its products, services, and this Privacy Policy in the United States. LeaseLock’s products and services are not intended to be used in any country or territory outside of the United States. LeaseLock does not represent or warrant that LeaseLock’s products or services are available for use in any particular jurisdiction. Irrespective of where you are located, by using LeaseLock’s products and services, you consent to the processing and transfer of your information to and only in the United States.

Changes to this Statement

LeaseLock will occasionally update this Privacy Policy and encourages you to periodically review this Privacy Policy to be informed of how LeaseLock is protecting your information. Where required under applicable law, LeaseLock will notify you of any material changes to the Privacy Policy and request your consent.
